Job Requirements
- At least 8 years working in non-profit fundraising or related fields
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Experience in designing and implementing a non-profit fund development plan
- Experience with event planning and donor-facing programming
- Collaboration: Exchanging information, ideas, and thoughts with others in a manner that is proactive and enhances partnerships
- Budgeting: Ability to forecast and track revenue and expenses for all income
- Research: Experienced in staying on top of a non-profit organization’s programmatic developments and philanthropy trends and developments
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tailor messages to clearly and persuasively communicate JMA’s work to the public and inspire people to support our work
- Relationship Building: Ability to build and sustain authentic and productive working relationships with colleagues across race and other group identities, including JMA employees as well as external partners
- Flexibility: Be ready to take advantage of unexpected opportunities and adapt quickly as things change
- Demonstrated self-awareness, empathy, and social skills in work and interpersonal interactions
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, solve problems and overcome obstacles to get the work done
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
- Deep understanding of political landscape and dynamics within philanthropy and major social justice donor coalition spaces
- Facilitation skills and an ability to unite the team on overall goals, strategic direction and campaign/work plans
- Extremely organized and highly detail oriented
- Ability to travel at least 15- 20% of the fiscal year to meet with funders, attend Board of Directors meetings, and support with funder events
