About Us
Summary
The Cloud Capacity team plays a critical role in ensuring Temporal Cloud is scalable, efficient, and reliable for our customers’ most important workloads. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll design and build systems that help manage and forecast resource needs, improving infrastructure efficiency, customer experience, and platform cost effectiveness.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement systems to track resource utilization, forecast consumption, and support capacity planning at scale
- Build and evolve components of a resource manager that improves infrastructure efficiency based on usage patterns and cost insights
- Contribute to autoscaling, workload isolation, and performance improvements in a multi-tenant cloud environment
- Partner with engineers across Cloud Infrastructure, Product, and other teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions
- Participate in design discussions, propose technical approaches, and contribute to long-term improvements of capacity systems
- Debug and resolve production issues, improving system reliability and operational excellence
What You'll Bring
- Experience building and operating distributed systems in a production cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Strong understanding of infrastructure systems including compute, storage, and networking fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Ability to reason about system performance, scalability, and reliability tradeoffs
- Solid coding skills in Go, Java, or similar languages
- Effective collaborator who communicates clearly and works well across teams
- 4–7+ years of experience building production software
Compensation
The estimated pay range for this role is $176,000 - $237,000 depending on experience and location.
Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Temporal's equity plan.
