Job Description
Product Manager – Business Applications, App Development & Digital Experience
Location: Remote
Department: IT Strategy & Operations Delivery – Business Applications / Application Development & Digital Experience
Position Overview
The Product Manager will lead product strategy, roadmap execution, and delivery operations across Business Applications, Application Development, and Digital Experience platforms. This role requires a proactive, highly accountable leader who thrives in complex healthcare environments and can drive clarity, structure, and measurable outcomes across multiple teams.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in product management, Agile delivery, SAFe implementation, and enterprise‑wide collaboration. This leader will own end‑to‑end product lifecycle management, partner with stakeholders across clinical, operational, and technical teams, and ensure that all product decisions are grounded in realistic capacity, business value, and clear requirements.
This is a high‑ownership, no‑hand‑holding role for someone who can navigate ambiguity, influence at all levels, and confidently manage difficult or demanding stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Strategy
- Own product vision, roadmap, and delivery strategy for Business Applications and Digital Experience portfolios.
- Partner with business and clinical stakeholders to clarify needs, define product requirements, and validate scope.
- Create and maintain product documentation, requirements, business cases, and service definitions.
- Evaluate new requests and determine feasibility based on capacity, technical constraints, and enterprise standards—professionally saying “no” or offering alternatives when needed.
Agile Leadership & SAFe Implementation
- Lead Agile ceremonies and coach teams on Agile and SAFe practices (sprint planning, DSUs, reviews, retros, backlog refinement).
- Support adoption of Agile mindset across Business Apps & App Dev teams, ensuring consistent participation and process alignment.
- Implement and maintain ADO Jira structures (Epics, Features, Stories, dashboards, workflows).
Delivery Operations & Execution
- Partner closely with engineering, developers, analysts, and cross‑functional teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Manage prioritization, backlog health, release sequencing, and dependency tracking.
- Build and manage operational dashboards to monitor throughput, capacity, and performance metrics.
- Ensure clear Definition of Ready and Definition of Done for all work items.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Serve as primary point‑of‑contact for product‑related conversations across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Lead discussions with business owners, department leaders, and executive stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure alignment.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business terms.
- Confidently address misaligned expectations and advocate for realistic delivery timelines.
Healthcare Expertise
- Apply understanding of healthcare workflows, regulatory constraints, and clinical/operational processes to product decisions.
- Work with interdisciplinary teams including clinical leadership, ancillary departments, security, compliance, and IT.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, or Digital Product Delivery.
- Experience in healthcare IT, including clinical, business, or operational systems.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps or Jira (backlogs, dashboards, WIT hierarchy, workflows).
- Proven ability to implement and coach teams in Agile and SAFe Agile frameworks.
- Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional teams with no direct authority.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage difficult or demanding stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to thrive in fast‑paced environments and drive work forward independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Business Applications, enterprise app development, or digital experience solutions.
- Background in project delivery, business analysis, or technical solution design.
- Experience building service catalogs, intake processes, and product governance models.
- Familiarity with portfolio and resource planning tools.
Attributes for Success
- Strong ownership mindset; requires minimal guidance.
- Comfortable pushing back respectfully when needed.
- Able to bring structure to ambiguity.
- Excellent communicator across all levels
- “Can‑do” attitude with a high degree of resilience.
- Collaborative but firm, able to balance stakeholder needs with delivery reality.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
