Job Description

About First Connect:

First Connect Insurance Services is a digital platform providing independent insurance agents access to top US carriers and the optionality necessary to grow their businesses. Agents can work with over 130 carriers, selling various insurance policies, including home, auto, small business, and more. We’re on a mission to overhaul the technology agents have access to, putting consumer-grade software at their fingertips. We’ve got thousands of active agents with hundreds joining monthly and we plan to accelerate our growth.

The Role:

First Connect is on a mission to scale and enhance our financial operations. We are looking for an analytical, self-starting Financial Analyst to join our team and help build our Finance function. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role reports to the Senior Financial Analyst and currently has no direct reports

What You’ll Do:

Financial Operations & Data Integrity

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure high levels of accuracy in all financial records.
  • Proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies between carrier payments and bank statements.
  • Establish and maintain data validation protocols to ensure "single source of truth" integrity across all reporting platforms.
  • Ensure data accuracy to provide a reliable foundation for critical business decisions

Commission Management

  • Manage and process monthly agent commissions accurately and on schedule.
  • Audit and maintain the accuracy of Carrier rates and Agent commission rates within the First Connect Portal to ensure 100% accuracy in automated commission calculations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for complex or escalated commission-related inquiries.

Analysis & Reporting

  • Asist the Accounting team during the monthly financial closing process
  • Use data-driven analysis to identify business trends, financial insights, and opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with Product and Operations to identify and implement process improvements that enhance financial reporting and workflow efficiency
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather data and provide actionable financial insights to Senior Management.
  • Adhoc Projects and Reports as requested

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in Finance or Accounting, with a strong preference for candidates from SaaS, FinTech, or high-growth startup environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience navigating CRM systems and financial ERP tools
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving work environment while maintaining composure and meeting tight deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a "militant" attention to detail and data accuracy
  • A self-starter who thrives with minimal supervision; must possess the "learning agility" to grasp new tools and complex processes quickly while independently navigating ambiguity

Benefits & Perks:

First Connect treats its team members with the same level of dedication and care as we do our customers, which is why we’re fortunate to provide our team with:

  • Multiple medical plans to choose from and 100% employer-covered dental; vision plans for our team members and their families.
  • We also offer a 401(k) retirement plan, short; long-term disability, employer-paid life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for health and dependent care, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Equity - This position is eligible for equity compensation
  • Training and Career Growth - Training and internal career growth opportunities
  • Flexible Time Off - You know when and how you should recharge

The base pay range for the role is $75,000 - $85,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, location, business needs and market demands.

First Connect is an equal-opportunity employer, and we are committed to building a team culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
