Job Description
• Own project costing accounting activities, including project setup, monitoring spend, retirements, journal entries for facility, development, national, and overhead projects
• Perform timely account reconciliations for assigned brands, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements and internal controls
• Support period-end close processes, including preparation of depreciation estimates, expense matrices, software CIP reclasses, and related reporting
• Ensure adherence to project costing policies by reviewing capitalization, dispositions, capital interest, dead site and pre-capital expenditures, and large-dollar project thresholds
• Prepare and analyze project-related financial data, including fixed asset disposals and property loss claim setups and accruals
• Assist with internal, SOX, and external audit requests by providing documentation, analysis, and reconciliations
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related Finance field
- 1–3 years of experience in property accounting, general accounting, or account reconciliation
- Strong analytical skills with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with financial systems and reporting tools (JD Edwards, Oracle, or similar ERP systems preferred)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
