Job Description

• Identify and evaluate new data sources across the satellite and aerial landscape • Assess data impact on product outcomes: resolution, latency, revisit, coverage, seasonality, rights, pricing, licensing, exclusivity, SLAs • Build and manage relationships with leading and emerging data providers — from established constellations to new EO startups • Lead vendor selection and negotiate terms (supported by legal/finance when needed) • Translate new data capabilities into clear product unlocks, cost efficiency, and accuracy gains • Maintain a forward-looking view of the external data landscape — technology upgrades, regulatory risks, data sovereignty, commercial shifts • Ensure data decisions map directly to customer value and operational outcomes • Represent Overstory externally as a knowledgeable, trusted counterpart to the earth observation and climate data ecosystem.

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years in product, partnerships, business strategy, or management consulting (EO experience is a plus, not required)
  • Clear critical thinking and sound tradeoff judgment
  • Strong product intuition paired with analytical rigor
  • Creative approach to unlocking new data-driven capabilities
  • Executive communication: crisp, transparent, and persuasive
  • Proven experience leading teams through change, ambiguity, and new directions.
  • Familiarity with emerging sensing domains: hyperspectral, thermal, fuels mapping, long-wave IR, SAR (Nice-to-haves).
  • Experience working with utilities, wildfire intelligence, grid reliability, or regulated infrastructure markets (Nice-to-haves).
  • Background in commercial strategy, platform partnerships, or data licensing for AI/ML product (Nice-to-haves).

Benefits

  • To be part of truly mission-driven work that reduces wildfires, protects earth’s natural resources and helps solve our climate crisis.
  • A flexible working environment with a lot of autonomy. We build our work days around our lives, not the other way around.
  • Other benefits like a remote working budget, an educational budget and time to develop new skills.
  • To be surrounded by an excellent, vibrant, smart team who have each other's back and believe in a culture of openness, tolerance and respect.
  • Equity and a competitive salary.
