Job Description

• Manage workers’ compensation cases with varying degrees of complexity • Provide litigation and claims legal advice and services • Develop the skills to independently manage a caseload of litigated claims files • Collaborate closely with experienced attorneys on a variety of legal matters including drafting and client counseling • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, contracts, and memoranda • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues • Participate in court sessions/proceedings and meet with clients as needed • Keep current with applicable laws and regulations

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited institution
Prior experience as a Law Clerk working within workers’ compensation, underwriting, a law firm or related industry is highly desired
Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of California, with no history of public or private reprisals
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and PowerPoint
Effective communication skills to convey information to internal/external clients both verbally and in writing
Basic understanding of workers’ compensation administrative rules, procedures, laws, and statutes is highly preferred
Good time management skills
