Job Description
• Own design and development of backend microservice in Java and Ruby.
• Define API contracts and service boundaries across multiple systems.
• Optimize performance and reliability using sound algorithmic and data structure principles.
• Design and evolve data models (MySQL) for scalability and maintainability.
• Lead improvements to our Kubernetes and Docker microservice environments, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS infrastructure (SQS/SNS, EC2, S3).
• Implement event-driven patterns for asynchronous workflows.
• Architect and implement responsive, accessible interfaces using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Collaborate with design to maintain and evolve our component library and design system.
• Drive performance and UX improvements through thoughtful optimization and experimentation.
• Mentor teammates through code reviews and design discussions.
• Help shape coding standards, testing practices, and architectural direction.
• Partner with Product and other stakeholders to translate business goals into technical outcomes.
• Identify and lead efforts to reduce technical debt and improve developer productivity.
Job Requirements
- 8+ years of professional full-stack experience (preferably in SaaS or fintech).
- Deep expertise in Java (Spring Boot) development.
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails or React frontend development.
- Expertise in the AWS ecosystem and cloud architecture.
- Proficient in designing and scaling cloud-based microservices on AWS.
- Comfortable leading cross-functional initiatives and mentoring peers.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and observability best practices.
- Pragmatic problem solver who can balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.
- Bachelor’s in CS or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Kubernetes certification is a plus.
