Job Description
• Lead full-cycle software development projects from requirements gathering through deployment and acceptance
• Design and architect solutions for complex housing management applications
• Write high-quality, maintainable code while establishing standards for the team
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to modernize our product suite
• Research HUD regulations and translate policy requirements into technical specifications
• Create and manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
• Mentor and coach Software Engineers I and II, fostering their technical growth
• Direct cross-functional project teams and coordinate resources
• Implement and improve QA procedures and development standards
• Drive continuous improvement in team processes and productivity
• Contribute creative ideas for product enhancements and new features
• Identify opportunities to add value for housing authority clients
• Stay current with industry trends and housing sector technology needs
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of software development experience with strong coding background
- Proficiency with FileMaker Pro (certification preferred but not required)
- Experience with relational database design and architecture
- Project management or team lead experience
- Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies
- Core: FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Go, SQL (MySQL)
- Web Technologies: HTML, CSS, XML, PHP
- Tools: Version control (Git), testing frameworks
- Experience with system troubleshooting and debugging complex processes
- Nice to Have: Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of housing industry regulations (HUD, Section 8, public housing)
- API design and integration experience
- Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively across all organizational levels
- Open-minded, continuous learning mindset
