Job Description

• Recruit eligible youth for Job Corps Program. • Conduct outreach activities in communities, agencies, American Job Centers, and public events. • Responsible for meeting departmental and center goals and objectives. • Conduct orientation and interview with applicants including parent in case of minors. • Perform applicant files procedures (data entry, scan documents on e-file). • Participate in departmental meetings. • Coordinate with centers to support applicants in travel arrangements. • Perform Quality Assurance Checks on all applicant files. • Assess graduates/former trainee's placement readiness, provide appropriate referrals and accompanying support services in accordance with DOL, Center, and Equus requirements. • Ensures timely placement and retention of assigned graduates and former enrollees in quality jobs, the military, or further education and training opportunities. • Promotes job development through direct contact with employers, One-Stops, JTPA, and State Employment Agencies. • Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills. • Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property. • Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility. • Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning. • Attends all required staff training opportunities. • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field and two years related experience.
  • Above average public speaking skills and experience.
  • Above average verbal and written skills.
  • Above average problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Computer literacy; specifically, Internet, e-mail, and Word Perfect/MS WORD.
  • The ability to work some evening hours and periodic weekends.
  • The ability to travel periodically.
  • Four years’ experience working with youths ages 16-24.
