Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend development with Python
- Strong proficiency in Django, or other Python API frameworks (e.g. FastAPI, Flask)
- Experience with SQL databases (preferably PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks
- Knowledge of API design principles and microservices architecture
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
- Solid understanding of version control with Git
- Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, unittest)
- Understanding of security best practices and data protection
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication abilities and proven track record of successful team collaboration
- Experience in financial services, fintech, and business-to-business organisations is particularly interesting
- Comfortable making and defending technical decisions while remaining open to feedback and alternative approaches
- Ability to balance technical excellence with business needs and guide the team toward pragmatic solutions
- Excel at stakeholder management and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Proactive in identifying and addressing potential issues before they become problems
- Helpful and generous with your time and knowledge
