Job Description

The key ways you'll bring value to the team: Design and develop scalable backend services using Python and Django, focusing on our core financial products Build and maintain RESTful APIs that power our customer-facing applications and internal tools Implement robust data models and database schemas to support our financial services infrastructure Write clean, testable code with comprehensive unit and integration tests Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and improvements Optimize application performance and ensure high availability of our services Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation Monitor and maintain production systems, ensuring reliability and security

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of professional experience in backend development with Python
Strong proficiency in Django, or other Python API frameworks (e.g. FastAPI, Flask)
Experience with SQL databases (preferably PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks
Knowledge of API design principles and microservices architecture
Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
Solid understanding of version control with Git
Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, unittest)
Understanding of security best practices and data protection
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication abilities and proven track record of successful team collaboration
Experience in financial services, fintech, and business-to-business organisations is particularly interesting
Comfortable making and defending technical decisions while remaining open to feedback and alternative approaches
Ability to balance technical excellence with business needs and guide the team toward pragmatic solutions
Excel at stakeholder management and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Proactive in identifying and addressing potential issues before they become problems
Helpful and generous with your time and knowledge
