Facilitate and document client workshops and working sessions; align stakeholders, drive outcomes, and communicate next steps. Create effective executive-ready communication material (PowerPoint storylines, reports, templates/tools) and present findings to executive and working-level audiences. Support delivery across a range of rail/transit topics (e.g., operating model and performance improvement, O&M transformation, asset/fleet strategy, customer experience, stations and service delivery, commercial/revenue opportunities, and program / PMO support). Leveraging subject matter expertise Leverage the knowledge and expertise of Deutsche Bahn’s railway subject matter experts (and other SMEs) in projects where applicable. Bridge between technical SMEs and client decision-makers by translating specialized input into structured analyses, recommendations, and implementation roadmaps. Team leadership & development Instruct, supervise, and coach Analysts and Consultants on projects; provide guidance on both consulting methods and content. Contribute to internal capability building (best practices, benchmarks, templates, and reusable methods) for rail and transit consulting. Business development Participate in preparing proposals and pursuits, including project approaches, methodologies, budgets, schedules, and written content. Support development of client relationships and identify opportunities for future engagements; maintain strong client relationships. Requirements: MBA, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in any discipline, with demonstrated academic excellence and the ability to learn quickly and deliver results. 5+ years of relevant professional experience in management consulting, internal consulting, strategy, operations improvement, project delivery, or comparable roles. Prior management consulting experience is beneficial but not required if you demonstrate strong consulting fundamentals through your work. Some rail and transit systems knowledge / exposure (e.g., through prior project work, employment in the rail/transit ecosystem, or sustained domain focus). Outstanding analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently with an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset. Strong written and verbal presentation and communication skills. Experience using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for analysis, quantitative models, and client-ready materials. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strong interpersonal skills. Occasional domestic / international travel may be required. Preferred Qualifications: Deeper expertise in one or more rail domains (e.g., rolling stock and maintenance, fleet/asset management, operations and O&M, infrastructure/stations, customer experience, commercial/revenue, digital/technology enablement). Experience applying international best practices in rail/transit (benchmarking across operators/regions, standards-based approaches, and structured governance models). Exposure to enterprise asset management / maintenance management systems, data and KPI frameworks, and performance management in asset-intensive environments.
