Job Description

The Business Continuity Specialist maintains and enhances the organization's Business Continuity (BC), Disaster Recovery (DR), and Continuity of Operations (COOP) programs. The role ensures resilience and preparedness across business operations and technology services supporting federal customer mission requirements. This includes: Coordinating BIAs Developing continuity and recovery plans Leading exercises Supporting audits Partnering with technical and business teams to meet applicable federal continuity and contingency expectations The position reports to the Manager, IT Risk & Compliance under the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Risk Management, Compliance, Information Security, Operations, etc.)
  • 5-7 years related work experience, including experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, or federal continuity
  • Demonstrated experience leading BIAs, developing continuity plans, and conducting TT&E exercises
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits, including from federal agencies
  • Strong ability to interface with technical teams and translate federal continuity requirements into actionable controls
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in managing multiple, high-exposure priorities
  • Presentation skills and explanation of business issues and needs to colleagues, technicians, users, and all levels of management
  • Proven experience in providing technical direction, staying current with and understanding trends and directions of the industry
  • Possess or obtain within two (2) years of starting position:
  • ABCP -- Associate Business Continuity Professional (DRI International)
  • Equivalent foundational business continuity credentials from a recognized body (e.g., BCI), including those listed as preferred
