This role involves supporting the data and reporting requirements of AFL’s Key Business Units. Under general supervision, the Analyst will design, develop, implement, enhance and maintain software applications partnering with internal business solution architects, business analysts, and systems analysts. This role requires heavy interaction with Key business leaders and managers to understand the daily operations and future goals. This will then have to be converted to requirements and/or reports. The focus of this individual is Data Analysis and Enterprise Reporting, and is expected to consistently follow the Agile methodologies in all development activities. Provide first hand support to business units with respect to their adhoc data and reporting requests Works with internal and external customers and suppliers to understand the business requirements behind requested computing initiatives Develops and deploys reports and dashboards in SSRS and Power BI Provide inputs on data sources and quality into high-level data flow architecture Design and develop ETL and integration solutions Implement design patterns and industry best-practices to develop secure robust integration applications Actively collaborate with developers and other project resources Questions existing processes and procedures (both administrative and technical), and offers suggestions and opinions for continuous improvement Communicates technical ideas and concepts in non-technical language to the business Takes directions from and works with senior members of the development team on projects and tasks Adheres to and promotes the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL Ability to effectively communicate with and educate business users and mid/senior management about data warehousing/business intelligence technology in business terms
