Job Description
Sales Director
Overall Objective:
The Sales Director has primary oversight to identify, develop, build and grow productive relationships with Pharma and Biotech clients in addition to developing and executing on personal sales plans.
Once in contact with clients/prospects, the Sales Director needs to communicate RxY data sets and key differentiating features while matching these to the current Key Business Questions of the client/prospect.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to and mentored by RxY’s Managing Director, and working with a team of research professionals, the mandate is to take a leadership role in:
Having a full understanding of RxY capabilities in order to represent or recommend them to clients in order to secure clients/prospects business
Leading the creation of compelling presentations and proposals in terms of business development to ensure that new business opportunities are created and profitable working relationships are established
Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with prospects and clients to exchange information and views that build the relationship so that repeat business is secured
Continuously scanning the market environment to detect signals that represent potential business opportunities
Consulting on client business issues and working with RxY research directors to answer these needs via RxY’s data sets
Implementing RxY’s sales and marketing strategies through various communication channels, with an emphasis on direct selling, supported by email, print, web-based, and other supportive measures currently in place or under development
Adhering to all pricing, packaging and product positioning guidelines set forth in the commercial policy and approved by the Domain CEO
Ensuring that research projects designed and implemented for our clients meet their desired business objectives
Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge:
Job Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in a Syndicated or Primary Market Research organization with at least 2+ years in a business development role
- Solid track record of new account development and sales volume generation
- Ability to work independently, as well as contribute to the team when required
- A solid understanding of pharmaceutical business information needs
- Ability to generate sales leads and deliver winning bids
- Proven ability to develop strong, lasting relationships with pharmaceutical clients
- Having the ability to understand client needs and adapt them to the RxY product offerings
- Ability to contribute to the development of the RxY marketing strategy
- Excellent written and spoken English is required;
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel;
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas (both written & verbally)
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to successfully manage varying workloads/schedules
- Key Performance Indicators
- Business development through direct sales to a diversified client base with the expectation that the Consultant will track annual sales of US$1.5 million to pharmaceutical clients.
- Manage account assignments to maximize revenue potential
