Role Description
As a Virtualization Engineer, you will design, implement, and manage enterprise-level EUC solutions with a strong focus on virtualization technologies. This role involves delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and application virtualization environments to support modern workforce needs.
- Collaborating with peers and working directly with clients to design, implement, troubleshoot, and optimize VDI and end-user computing environments.
- Deploy endpoint protection technologies and safeguard client identity systems.
- Participate in developing and expanding service delivery standards and best practices.
- Work closely with Engineering, Sales, and Project Management teams to achieve infrastructure and security service goals.
- Define project scope, validate requirements, manage deployments, and enforce change control procedures to meet budget and timelines.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of company products and services.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned technologies.
- Obtain and maintain relevant vendor certifications and technical proficiency in implemented solutions.
- Provide knowledge transfer and solution education to clients.
- Collaborate with clients, partners, and vendors to ensure secure and successful solution deployments.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies: VMware vSphere, ESXi, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops; Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD); Horizon; Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of endpoint protection technologies and identity security systems.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and profile management solutions.
- Experience with application packaging and delivery (App-V, MSIX, Citrix App Layering).
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Client or Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty.
- Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V).
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent security certification.
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
