About Lola Blankets

Lola Blankets, the creator of the world’s softest luxury faux fur blankets, is seeking a Finance & Strategy Associate to apply strong financial modeling and analytical skills to drive business growth and profitability. This person will report to the Finance & Strategy Manager and assist with financial analysis, forecasting, and business case development, while collaborating cross-functionally with the Accounting, Product, and Marketing teams to support accurate reporting and forecasting of financial metrics and results.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Financial Modeling and Reporting: Support and maintain Lola Blanket’s financial model and assist with all financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting. Conduct variance analysis and reporting on results versus budgets.
  • New Opportunity Analysis: Assist in building business cases to assess and prioritize new channel and product opportunities, including market sizing and margin analysis. Support pricing analysis to make recommendations for new product development strategies.
  • Financial KPI Reporting: Report on key business drivers that have the highest impact on the growth and profitability of the business. Analyze the key drivers and surface insights to support strategic recommendations to improve business performance.
  • Cash Flow Management: Support the monitoring and forecasting of cash flow and working capital, helping to ensure the company has the resources necessary to support its operations and growth initiatives
  • Accounting Assistance: Provide supporting analysis and documentation to the Controller and accounting team to help ensure accurate results and streamlined processes.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Build and maintain cross functional relationships to support Lola Blankets' financial goals. Work closely with the Product team on demand forecasting and inventory management. Collaborate with Marketing to report on the financial performance of customer acquisition strategies and channels.
  • Presentations: Support the preparation of concise, financial analysis-backed presentations and recommendations for leadership.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the company's strategic planning process by assisting with financial insights and projections that align with business objectives.
  • Competitor and Macro Analysis: Monitor the performance of Lola’s competitors, both direct competitors and in the broader home and consumer goods segment. Provide performance summaries to recommend any successful strategies, and provide read-outs of public company results to benchmark Lola’s performance and broader macro considerations.
  • Credit Line Materials: assist with the development of pitch materials to expand the company's credit facilities, including lender presentations and financial projections

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in professional services (investment banking, private equity, consulting) and/or corporate finance (eCommerce, CPG, retail, or direct-to-consumer brands)
  • Excel and PowerPoint mastery
  • Experience with financial modeling, FP&A processes, and corporate strategy
  • Ability to communicate insights in a clear and actionable manner to business stakeholders.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing decision-making through financial analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous business questions into a solution framework.
