Role Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our company. The ideal candidate has experience both analyzing data and translating complex results into understandable and actionable findings. This individual will develop and execute on complicated analytic projects that are descriptive, evaluative, business intelligence, and financial in nature.
- Shepherd an analysis through all steps of the process including scoping, planning, execution, quality checking, results formatting and write-up, delivery and presentation of findings, and communication with the internal team and the client throughout the process.
- Program robust analyses in statistical programming languages such as R or SAS efficiently with strong attention to detail and minimal oversight.
- Quickly learn new datasets (and their limitations) to leverage for analysis and thought leadership.
- Think strategically and creatively about analyses and datasets to deliver value to clients and grow the business, including novel approaches to using existing ATI data assets and identifying new data for ATI to consider acquiring.
- Develop methods (particularly for outcomes analyses and financial modeling) that are statistically rigorous, and seek to creatively overcome complex data limitations.
- Collaborate with and advise colleagues firmwide on methods and structuring an analysis, including identifying limitations of methods, analyses, and datasets to address project or client needs.
- Convey (in written deliverables and presentations) analysis findings, recommendations, and data considerations to clients, including ability to communicate with clients across a spectrum of data acumen.
- Use strong judgment to understand and help project leadership solve client problems including identifying programmatic and strategic recommendations informed by data analytics.
- Create informative data visualizations.
Qualifications
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in epidemiology, statistics, mathematics, public policy, public health, public administration, economics, or another related field.
- 4-6 years of relevant analytics work experience.
- Working policy knowledge of Medicare and/or Medicaid.
- Knowledge of and experience analyzing Medicare and/or Medicaid datasets (claims, encounters, public use files, surveys, etc.).
- Experience and proficiency in independently analyzing claims and/or survey data, and preparing written summaries and visual displays that clearly convey information, with the ability to tailor the summary or display to the intended audience.
- Preferred experience working with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience working on and prioritizing multiple urgent and complex tasks, each with competing deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, including ability to work efficiently to produce accurate and high-quality deliverables.
- Ability to problem solve independently, pivot quickly based on client needs, and work with incomplete information.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both written and verbally.
- Ability to synthesize complex research findings into relevant insights.
- High level of initiative, quick learning ability, and resourcefulness.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- High degree of professional maturity.
