Job Description
Role Description
We're looking for an organized and people-focused HR Coordinator to join our growing HR team. In this role, you'll be the operational backbone of our HR function — handling day-to-day employee support, benefits administration, and compliance tasks that keep our team running smoothly. You'll work closely with our HR Manager and have real ownership over the processes you manage.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career who's eager to build broad experience across benefits, leave management, employee relations support, and HR operations.
What You'll Do
-
Employee Support & Benefits Administration
- Monitor and respond to the HR inbox, providing first-level support for employee inquiries regarding benefits, policies, and general HR topics
- Manage benefit enrollments in Paylocity, ensuring accuracy for new hires, terminations, and life event changes
- Coordinate transfers, enrollments, and terminations with benefit vendors (Cigna, American Worker, and others)
- Serve as a first point of contact for insurance-related questions, helping employees navigate their coverage
-
Leave & Compliance
- Administer parental leave and FMLA requests end-to-end — tracking, paperwork, and communication
- Manage workers' compensation claims, coordinating with employees and vendors through the process
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with applicable regulations
-
HR Operations
- Support onboarding for new hires, including benefits orientation and systems setup
- Process employment verifications and related documentation
- Assist with data entry, HRIS maintenance, and ongoing workflow automation in Paylocity
- Help develop and document HR processes and standard operating procedures
- Provide general support to the HR Manager on projects, reporting, and special initiatives
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in an HR or people operations role
- Hands-on experience with an HRIS platform (Paylocity experience a plus)
- Working knowledge of benefits administration, leave management (FMLA/parental leave), or workers' comp
- Strong attention to detail and comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication — you'll be the face of HR for a lot of day-to-day questions
- Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive employee information
- A collaborative, can-do attitude and genuine interest in supporting people
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus, but not required
Benefits
- Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
- Life and AD&D coverage
- Supplementary/Voluntary benefit plans
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- 401(k) with employer match
