Role Description

As a software engineer for the SDA GMI program, you’ll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying the state-of-the-art ground operational systems.

  • Develop and deploy software solutions for ground operational systems
  • Collaborate with development team members, operations, and security teams
  • Identify issues and develop effective solutions
  • Generate documentation and share important knowledge

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field
  • 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience
  • Agile experience preferred

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python and Java programming languages
  • Understanding of DevOps principles: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, automation, configuration management, and infrastructure as code
  • Familiar with Scaled Agile methodology and its best practices
  • Security knowledge: Familiarity with security best practices, risk, compliance & vulnerability management, encryption & PKI, incident response, auditing and monitoring
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Linux/UNIX, YAML, and JSON
  • Experience with AWS (AWS Solutions Architect strongly preferred) and its services
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of API Design, testing, development and management
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with development team members, operations, and security teams
  • Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions
  • Well versed in generating documentation and sharing important knowledge
  • Well versed in prompt engineering and utilizing popular AI tools to accelerate workload
