Job Description
• Perform plant thermal-hydraulic stability analyses, plant noise analyses, PRNM stability interface, and other safety analyses with general expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques
• Perform fuel project tasks including reload analyses, Stability methods implementation, new fuel design and introduction, and safety analysis support for emergent fuel issues
• Perform in cross-disciplinary settings, engage with interfacing teams responsible for mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, or other affiliated organizations to find optimum customer solutions
• Prepare, document and present technical data to internal/external customers
• Provide technical mentoring to support team development and knowledge management, including procedure development and adherence
• Develop/deliver training course offerings in support of external commercial requests, as well as for internal audiences for knowledge management, and knowledge capture and transfer
• Lead team process improvements to drive speed and simplification
• Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in plant T-H Stability Safety Analysis
- Experience in BWR Plant T-H Stability analyses & methods, including plant noise analyses, PRNM stability interface, stability setpoints methodology, and frequency and time domain methodologies
- M.S. Degree in Nuclear Engineering with experience in T-H modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems
- Experience with BWR technology and BWR Stability analysis to support applicable regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of plant operational support in the Stability area
- Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements
- Experience with BWR simulator and use of 3-D neutron kinetics (e.g., PANAC)
- Experience with BWR/PWR T-H systems codes such as TRACG, RELAP, & TRACE
- Experience with Best Estimate and CSAU applications
- Programming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON
