Role Description

This role involves maintaining lease accounting schedules and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

• Maintains lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
• Develops detailed understanding of the end-to-end process of lease accounting, including related stakeholders, systems, accounting processes, and internal controls that support internal and external reporting.
• Proactively prepares weekly/monthly/quarterly analyses and related journal entries in support of lease accounting.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts; investigates and resolves variances on a timely basis.
• Supports assigned internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
• Completes special projects and analyses as requested by department leadership.
• Proactively seeks to keep abreast of accounting, reporting and disclosure standards promulgated by the FASB, SEC and PCAOB that affect internal accounting and reporting practices.
• Provides sound analysis and supports the impact of changes.
• Other duties and/or responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university focusing in Accounting, or Financial Accounting.
• Minimum of one year of practical general ledger accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting and/or corporate accounting environment.
• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting is highly preferred.
