Job Description
Role Description
This mid-level leader will play a critical role in operational execution and HR administration. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, build-as-we-go environment and is comfortable balancing strategic coordination with hands-on implementation.
Key Responsibilities
-
Operations
- Coordinate deployment and tracking of equipment for the Intensive Support Social Work Team
- Support internal systems development and process improvement
- Assist with data analytics, reporting, and data entry to support performance tracking and compliance
- Maintain operational documentation and internal workflows
- Support cross-functional coordination with finance and administrative leadership
- Coordinate with new contractors to ensure completion of onboarding processes and execution of required contractual documents
-
Human Resources
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes
- Maintain personnel files and HR documentation
- Coordinate payroll inputs and benefits administration
- Track employee leave, PTO, and compliance requirements
- Support recruitment logistics, manage ads for positions, interview scheduling, and offer processing
- Assist with performance review processes and documentation
- Monitor HR compliance requirements (federal and state)
-
HR Coordination & Governance
- Serve as primary internal liaison to the organization’s HR attorney
- Coordinate with external HR partners to maintain and update the employee handbook
- Ensure policies, procedures, and documentation align with legal and regulatory standards
- Support the implementation of HR best practices appropriate for a growing for-profit organization
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in operations, human resources, or a combined role
- Experience in a for-profit environment is HIGHLY preferred; creativity and thinking outside the traditional ways of doing things are needed for this position
- Strong organizational systems thinking
- Proficiency in HR platforms and data management systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, innovative, forward-thinking organization that is continuously evolving and building new systems in real time
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master's preferred, HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred
Ideal Candidate
You are detail-oriented, operationally disciplined, and adaptable in execution. You intentionally align your work products, decision-making, and leadership approach with the A4O Leadership & Practice Capacity-Building Model, ensuring that internal operations reflect the same rigor, accountability, and continuous learning that guide our external work. You understand that infrastructure and culture are not separate from impact; it enables it.
You recognize that growth-stage organizations require flexibility, initiative, confidence, the ability to work independently, and strong problem-solving instincts. You are comfortable building systems while simultaneously operating within them. Ambiguity does not stall you—you assess, prioritize, implement, and refine. You anticipate needs before they become problems and design scalable, compliant, and responsive processes. You attend to deliverables and evolve products.
You are equally comfortable deploying laptops and equipment to a field-based Intensive Support Social Work Team as you are coordinating HR compliance documentation with legal counsel. You move fluidly between hands-on operational tasks and higher-level administrative coordination. You understand that both are essential and approach each with professionalism and care.
You bring structure without rigidity. You create clarity through documentation, workflow design, and data tracking, while remaining responsive to evolving organizational needs. You see infrastructure-building, HR systems, compliance processes, operational logistics, and data integrity as mission-critical work that strengthens staff performance, protects the organization, and positions A4O for sustainable growth in a competitive, for-profit environment.
