Role Description

The primary purpose and function of the Construction Manager is to plan, direct, coordinate, and budget activities associated with the IT and Security components of construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.

  • Participate in the conceptual development of IT and Security systems for construction projects
  • Oversee organization, scheduling, and implementation
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor outside vendors, GC’s, project managers, and others
  • Demonstrate problem solving and a systematic approach to collaboration, communication, and organization
  • Multitask with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess instructional and mathematical aptitude in construction means and methods

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Bachelor's in Construction Management, IT, Engineering or Business
  • Required: 5 years of IT/Security Project Management, Construction Management (emphasis on IT/Security), or Construction Engineering
  • Required: Experience managing multiple projects in multiple time zones
  • Required: Retail or Owner Construction Management experience (emphasis on IT/Security)
  • Required: Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of buildings
  • Required: Experience with business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Required: Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices
  • Preferred: Healthcare (human or veterinary) background

Requirements

  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time
  • Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics, and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language)
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to solve problems involving several variables
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb
  • Ability to manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity, and visual acuity
  • The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate
  • Environment where pets are present
