Job Description
As a Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of SaaS Source-to-Pay and Accounts Payable automation implementations for enterprise clients. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of software implementation projects, from initiation through go-live and stabilization.
The Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams across Velocity Procurement, the technology partner, and the client organization to ensure successful deployment of AP automation solutions. Responsibilities include managing project scope, schedule, resources, risks, and budgets while ensuring alignment with the Solution Design Document, implementation methodology, and contractual scope of work.
This role requires strong leadership across geographically distributed teams and the ability to manage complex SaaS implementations with multiple integration points, stakeholders, and workstreams.
Engagement Context
This role will operate within a partner-led delivery model where Velocity Procurement supports Technology Partner implementation services for end customers. The Project Manager will work closely with Engagement Managers and client project teams to coordinate implementation activities, manage project governance, and ensure successful delivery aligned with the project Statement of Work.
Role Summary:
- Lead SaaS implementation projects for AP Automation and Source-to-Pay solutions from initiation through go-live and stabilization
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, including scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and dependencies
- Coordinate project activities across stakeholders, technical teams, and integration partners
- Facilitate design workshops and document solution decisions within the Design Document
- Ensure delivery aligns with implementation methodology, project governance, and stage gates
- Monitor project risks, issues, scope changes, and mitigation strategies while maintaining alignment with the Statement of Work
- Oversee integration activities with client ERP systems and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) through go-live readiness
- Lead governance meetings, status reporting, and executive-level communications
- Coordinate global teams across time zones to ensure delivery timelines and project continuity
- Support post-go-live hypercare and transition to steady-state support
- Maintain project documentation including meeting notes, risk logs, decision logs, and status reports
- Contribute to solution improvements, sales support, and best practices development
- Travel may be required depending on project needs but most work is performed remotely in collaboration with distributed client and partner teams.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Degree in Information technology, business, administration, or a related field
- Prior implementation, consulting, and/or project management experience required
- At least 5 years of experience managing enterprise SaaS implementation projects, preferably within Source-to-Pay, Procure-to-Pay, or Accounts Payable automation platforms.
- Domain experience in some of the following: project management, technology implementations, contract management, supplier management, procurement, AP automation, strategic sourcing, change management, user training, training development, and/or procurement operations (fulfillment)
- Experience managing system integrations between SaaS applications and ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar enterprise systems.
- Experience implementing Accounts Payable automation platforms such as Esker, Basware, Coupa, Ariba, Jaggaer, or similar financial process automation solutions.
- Adaptive to change, having comfort in fast-changing work environment
- Provide structured and creative analysis to identify performance improvement opportunities
- Ability to define and carry out project plans and modeling architecture with minimal supervision
- Articulate key messages clearly and explain project details to end users, stakeholders, and executive level audiences
- Outstanding written and verbal communication (including presentation) skills are required
- Expertise with Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Anticipatory thinking, proactive planning, and creative problem solving
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Refined organization skills
- Capable of tracking multiple project timelines, teams, deliverables, and workstreams, both in present project phases and upcoming project phases
- PMP or equivalent certification
- Experience delivering projects using Agile or hybrid Agile methodologies within enterprise software implementations.
