Job Description
Role Description
This role involves helping families navigate difficult situations related to special education and school discipline.
- Work directly with the owner to support the team and help clients
- Manage a caseload in either a part-time or full-time position
- Take initiative on work that needs to be done with minimal supervision
- Engage in legal research, drafting, reviewing, and editing support letters, personal statements, and cover letters
- Attend school meetings as needed and assist with special education and school discipline matters
- Independently maintain and manage individual casework
- Enter client notes and billable time into the Case Management System
Qualifications
- Experience in Children's law as it relates to special education or school discipline
- Barred in California or another State
- A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Wide range of knowledge regarding children's law and law-related topics

- Strong organizational abilities
- Ability to effectively advocate on behalf of clients
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High degree of accountability and responsibility
- Experience in special education (personal or professional) or school discipline
- Great communicators, especially in high-stress situations
