Role Description
This role is responsible for developing strategic business relationships with national companies to secure 7- to 8-figure funding for organizational priorities. Responsible for working with field leaders in local Heart Association market offices to build a strong portfolio of accounts in order to achieve an annual revenue target in the $10+ million range, as well as meeting and exceeding strategic account objectives.
- Acts as a senior level contact to represent the Heart Association with executives from global and national companies that are headquartered in the Southwest and Southeast regions of the Association
- Develop, plan and collaborate with national senior management, regional leadership, and local market directors to prospect for new business
- Build a diverse portfolio of national accounts for national sponsorship and consumer fundraising campaigns
- Recruit, train, and manage 1+ direct reports in field corporate relations
- Provide timely direction, framework and resources to local staff and volunteers while at the same time relying on their expertise, abilities and willingness to leverage their networks to drive the goals of the organization
- Lead proposal development efforts that best address the corporate account’s needs while meeting the mission priorities and capabilities of the Heart Association
- Coordinate with appropriate departments to provide support, service, programs, or senior management resources
- Work closely with operations on contract negotiation and execution that results in a favorable agreement for the Heart Association and A/R deliverables
- Lead company strategic account planning process within assigned regions and portfolio that develops mutual goals and objectives, revenue targets and critical milestones on a multi-year basis
- Regularly evaluates and reports on campaign progress utilizing the applicable campaign management tools and reporting systems. Ensures the integrity and security of donor information and adheres to established policies and procedures.
- Operates in accordance with the American Heart Association's Fiscal Standard policies and all applicable laws, regulations, policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Business, Marketing, Management or related field
- Five (5) or more years of successful sales experience, particularly in selling intangible programs and services, along with the ability to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies
- Five (5) or more years of experience in negotiation and solution-oriented problem-solving
- Five (5) or more years of experience developing and delivering presentations to both large and small groups
- Comprehensive ability to prepare written and oral communications including thorough knowledge and command of business English
- Ability to consult and interact with high level executives
- Must be able to travel at least 50% of time, including overnight stays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in individual sales greater than $500,000
- Experience in contract negotiation and non-profit fundraising execution
Compensation & Benefits
- The expected pay range will be $170,000 to $180,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
