Role Description
The Competitive Strategy Analyst is responsible for analyzing market dynamics, competitor activities, and industry trends to support strategic decision-making across the organization. This role gathers and interprets competitive intelligence to help leadership identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and strengthen the company’s market position.
- Conduct detailed research and analysis of competitors, market trends, and industry developments
- Monitor competitor product launches, pricing strategies, partnerships, and market positioning
- Develop competitive intelligence reports and strategic insights for senior leadership
- Analyze market data to identify emerging opportunities, risks, and growth strategies
- Collaborate with product and marketing teams to refine product positioning and messaging
- Support strategic planning initiatives with data-driven recommendations
- Build and maintain competitive intelligence databases and dashboards
- Prepare presentations, briefings, and reports for executive leadership
- Track industry innovations, technological advancements, and regulatory changes
- Provide ongoing updates on competitor activities and strategic threats
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field
- 3–6 years of experience in competitive intelligence, strategy analysis, market research, or business analytics
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information
- Experience working with market intelligence and data analytics tools
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to translate data insights into strategic recommendations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple research projects simultaneously
Requirements
- Masters degree (MBA, Data Analytics, or related field)
- Experience using competitive intelligence platforms such as Crayon or Klue
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI
- Experience in strategy consulting, technology, SaaS, or digital industries
- Strong presentation skills for communicating insights to executives
