Job Description
Role Description
Darden is hiring a research assistant for the Summer 2026 to synthesize and integrate methods information for graduate business methods classes.
- Locate and summarize academic literature on a variety of topics
- Write summary material of theoretical and philosophical texts with attention to how they inform research methods
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Very strong written and verbal communication
- Strong synthesis skills (reading and summarizing arguments)
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently while balancing multiple projects
- Familiarity with key theoretical and philosophical thinkers such as Hobbs, Rawls, Locke, Weber, Foucault, and similar preferred
- Graduate students are encouraged to apply
- Position is open to students in business, social sciences, humanities, philosophy or other disciplines with strong writing skills
Requirements
- Pay rate: $25/hour
- Position offers 10-25 hours/week during the summer
Benefits
- This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers
- The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs
