This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the creative vision and execution of immersive, spatial experiences that engage audiences and elevate brand presence. As a Spatial Art Director, you will translate concepts into fully realized environments, combining 3D design, renderings, and onsite art direction to create memorable experiences. You will collaborate closely with internal creative teams, vendors, and clients to ensure every detail aligns with the project’s vision and objectives. This position requires a balance of creativity, technical skill, and operational oversight, empowering you to influence both design outcomes and overall project quality. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, guiding teams, managing partners, and contributing to award-winning experiential projects that make a measurable impact.
- Lead the creative direction of spatial projects, translating concepts into immersive environments and experiences.
- Develop mood boards, floor plans, elevations, 3D models, build drawings, and realistic renderings to guide project execution.
- Collaborate with internal creative teams and external vendors to maintain quality, consistency, and alignment with project goals.
- Manage onsite art direction, ensuring attention to detail and project expectations are met during builds and installations.
- Source furniture, décor, and materials, providing guidance to achieve the desired aesthetic and functional outcomes.
- Organize and prioritize project action items, delegate tasks to Associate Art Directors, and support client presentations.
- Oversee relationships with scenic partners, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to project vision and timelines.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of proven spatial design experience, ideally in an agency environment.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating renderings, 3D models, floor plans, and build drawings.
- Mastery of 3D design software such as SketchUp, Rhino, C4D, or Blender, and render engines like Enscape, Twinmotion, Lumion, or Vray.
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, and Google Workspace suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with experience presenting to clients.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and maintain project momentum.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with strong leadership and team motivation skills.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% as required.
