Role Description

Bank Street College, Graduate School of Education, is looking for a Short-term Adjunct instructor for the following course to be taught March 10th-24th, with a possible extension through April 21st. Sessions will meet on Tuesdays, 7-9pm EST.

LEAD 825: Child Life Program Development and Administration, 3 cr

• This course will introduce students to the skills needed to develop, direct, and manage child life programs in healthcare settings.
• Emphasis will be placed on developing a philosophy of leadership that fosters team collaboration and staff participation.
• Program planning will be addressed within the context of child development and child life principles.
• Topics covered will include:
  • Staff development and supervision
  • Continuous quality improvement
  • Proposal writing
  • Program development
  • Departmental management skills
• Prerequisite: EDUC 500. For students in the Child Life program only.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in child life required. Doctorate preferred.
• 5 or more years of experience as a child life practitioner.
• Experience teaching at the graduate level, preferred.
• Experience teaching online, preferred.
