Role Description
- This position can be REMOTE.
- Promote and sell handheld breath alcohol instruments.
- Research and follow government funding status and mechanisms.
- Seek out business development opportunities.
- Understand the specific needs and specifications of individual customers.
- Provide quotes and bids in a timely manner.
- Attend trade shows and conferences to develop customer contacts and relationships.
- Maintain existing customer base relationships with policy officers, forensic scientists, DUI program personnel, and other related law enforcement personnel.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and service departments.
- Develop and maintain an adequate understanding of company products and competitor products.
- Carry out effective training and demonstration of products.
- Provide an estimated sales plan to the planning process and a weekly report on a timely basis.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years direct sales experience.
- Track record of working independently to execute sales and sales support in a multi-state territory.
- Record of achieving short and long term revenue and profitability goals.
- Previous history of establishing and building effective relationships with a diverse group of key decision makers.
- Communicate (oral and written) professionally and effectively to internal and external customers.
- Travel up to 60%.
- Previous experience with government or quasi-government procurement processes including opportunity and funding identification, product specification, product approval and/or competitive bid processes.
- Prior experience selling into breath alcohol, drugs of abuse, forensics, medical device, clinical laboratory or related markets is a plus.
