Role Description

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of quality assurance processes, procedures, and protocols, ensuring the highest standards of quality are met across all products and services within a strategic project with the Department of Veterans Affairs impacting over millions of veteran users. In this role you will be leading a team of QA professionals, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and continuously improving processes to enhance the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive QA policies and procedures
  • Oversee all aspects of quality assurance, including planning, implementation, and monitoring
  • Lead and mentor the multi-disciplinary testing and QA team to ensure high performance and professional development
  • Collaborate with product development, engineering, and operations teams to ensure quality standards are met
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with standards
  • Analyze data and metrics to identify trends and drive corrective actions
  • Ensure alignment with VA policies, TRM standards, Section 508 requirements, and federal government frameworks
  • Oversee functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing across multiple workstreams

Qualifications

  • 10 Years of Experience in a similar QA role
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant degree (Bachelor's degree can be substituted with 8 years of additional relevant experience)
  • Experience in creating and implementing detailed plans to ensure overall quality of all IT products, systems, and services
  • Experience in resolving all project or program release problems, triage, escalate, and take corrective action
  • Experience in assuring the viability, functionality, and effectiveness of essential tools
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Test automation, tools, and strategy competencies
  • Risk and defect management including incident response
  • In-depth understanding of quality assurance principles and practices
  • Proactive problem solver with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality tailored to VA’s technical and regulatory environment

Working Conditions

Standard Business hours are Monday through Friday. Occasional extended or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs. Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting.
