You’ll collaborate with leaders across the business to drive operational excellence, coach teams, and embed a strong safety culture. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will shape how we operate, innovate, and grow safely and sustainably.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Manage the HSE and Sustainability strategy for the United States, ensuring alignment with global service goals.
Coach and support service unit managers to foster a proactive safety culture and maintain compliance.
Ensure rigorous adherence to the HSE Operating System, Life-Saving Rules, and high-risk activity protocols.
Direct legal compliance and operational conformity across all assigned service units.
Oversee environmental data reporting and conduct thorough investigations into any incidents.
Verify the safe execution of field activities through meticulous planning and regular site visits.
Manage and develop a team of HSE Specialists who support local service units.
Promote a high-performance culture by acting as a role model and professional authority on HSE matters.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline.
10-15 years of HSE work experience with proven proficiency in safety programs and regulatory requirements.
Professional HSE certification (such as CSP, ASP, CHSM, CHMM, CHST, or OHST) is highly desirable.
Solid working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
Extensive knowledge of Federal, State, and Local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certificate, or a willingness to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
