Role Description
The Technical Proposal Writer will be responsible for authoring a wide variety of content to support the needs of Oneida Technical Solutions' growing Business Development team. The successful candidate will have experience in deeply technical environments, showcasing an ability to author new or edit existing content related to:
- Cybersecurity
- Software development
- Network and telecommunications engineering
- General IT support services
Experience working in the Federal/DoD space is strongly preferred.
Applicants must submit a portfolio that showcases a variety of work, including at least one long-form authored piece such as a branded white paper or case study (understanding redactions may be necessary to maintain confidentiality). Submitted samples should reflect an understanding of enterprise-level information technology services, hardware, or other highly technical subject matter.
Responsibilities include:
- Write compelling original proposal content driven by the evolving needs of our Business Development team.
- Review, edit, and rewrite content developed by others.
- Integrate content into proposal response documents.
- Independently research and write technical content for business development efforts, white papers, and case studies in key customer verticals.
- Interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and develop original technical content about the application of OTS' services in multiple industries.
- Contribute to the design and development of professional templates in line with company branding in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite, for internal and external use.
- Write, edit, and proofread proposal and contract materials while meeting established schedules and deadlines.
- Work with graphic designers to turn concepts and ideas into proposal graphics.
- Participate in all phases of the proposal process including proposal strategy planning, content writing and development, internal review, and production, ensuring that all materials are client-focused and clearly articulate our compelling business value.
- Read and review RFIs and RFPs and develop content that is compliant with all instructions and criteria.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- US citizen eligible for Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or related STEM field and 2+ years of business experience in a technical field.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
- Self-starter with strong critical thinking skills.
- Willing to work outside of normal business hours if necessary to meet proposal deadlines.
- Comfortable working with others at all levels of the organization.
- Able to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams to gather input from multiple stakeholders and drive business results.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex topics into clear, concise, and compelling content to educate and inspire decision makers across key industry verticals.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including creating templates, setting styles, using formulas and macros.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat Pro.
