This is a high-impact technical leadership role focused on shaping the architecture of a large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS platform serving enterprise customers. The SaaS Platform Architect will define the long-term architectural strategy and guide the development of scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native systems. Working closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams, this role ensures the platform can handle high data volumes, complex workloads, and strict reliability requirements. The position combines deep software architecture expertise with hands-on technical leadership, influencing backend systems, APIs, and data infrastructure. It also plays a key role in enabling AI-driven innovation and modern development practices. - Define and lead the architectural evolution of a multi-tenant SaaS platform, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and resilience at enterprise scale.
- Design highly distributed, fault-tolerant backend services and establish architectural standards, patterns, and technical roadmaps.
- Guide decisions around system decomposition, API strategy, extensibility, and large-scale data architecture.
- Architect and optimize cloud-native infrastructure on AWS while ensuring cost efficiency, high availability, and strong security controls.
- Oversee containerization and orchestration strategies using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Promote engineering best practices including CI/CD pipelines, observability, reliability engineering, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Integrate and advance AI-assisted development practices and evaluate emerging AI/ML frameworks for platform innovation.
- Lead architectural reviews, mentor senior engineers, and provide guidance on complex technical challenges across teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, data, QA, and DevOps to ensure alignment between architecture and product goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 10+ years of experience designing and architecting enterprise-scale, multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, MySQL, and RESTful API design.
- Extensive experience with cloud-native systems on AWS, including compute, storage, networking, and managed services.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems architecture, event-driven design, and large-scale data modeling.
- Proven experience designing systems for high availability, fault tolerance, and performance under high concurrency workloads.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong DevOps knowledge including CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, Git-based workflows, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Experience using generative AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar within professional development workflows.
- Excellent technical leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred: experience with real-time messaging systems (Kafka, SQS), Elasticsearch, enterprise observability platforms, or AI/LLM integrations such as RAG pipelines or agentic workflows.
