Job Description
Role Description
The American College of Radiology (ACR) is seeking a motivated Business Intelligence Intern to support our data modernization efforts by helping migrate our reporting infrastructure from SQL Server to Amazon Redshift and strengthening our advanced analytics capabilities. In this role, you will:
- Assist with maintaining and migrating Tableau reports
- Optimize SQL queries
- Validate data accuracy
- Develop dashboards and ad-hoc analyses that address evolving business needs
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements
- Document workflows
- Support best practices for report development, refresh scheduling, and access management
- Work closely with the Data Team to troubleshoot and resolve issues throughout the migration process
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related majors preferred)
- Detail-oriented, curious, reliable, and mature
- Eager to learn, self-driven, and take initiative
- Excellent communication (verbal & writing) skills required
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Tableau and its core functionalities
- Technical knowledge of Tableau products and version differences
- Working knowledge of Python scripting
- Ability to interpret data and communicate insights to stakeholders and senior leadership
- Solid understanding of SQL and AWS data technologies (Data Lake, S3, Redshift, Athena)
- Familiarity with dashboard and BI reporting best practices, including design and publishing
- Awareness of data security principles and implementation
Benefits
- Interns work a 32.5 hour work week remotely, from May 18th to August 8th, with every Friday afternoon off
- Hourly compensation range for this position is $19.00 – $23.00, depending on class level
