The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Experienced Software Estimator and Architect to support our Strategy and New Business Team . This position will focus on supporting the ET&T-Software Engineering business organization.
The Strategy and New Business Team, positioned within the Software Engineering - Functional Excellence Office, is seeking a solution architect and estimator. This is a highly visible role with exposure to all of the enterprise product lines, the Fabric leadership, and individual programs within other business units.
In this role, you will work closely with product line architects and the chief architects to develop solutions to meet the needs of our customers, and use those solutions as the basis for estimating work scope and required resources. You will work in multi-disciplinary teams with systems engineers, architects, business leaders, and customers.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to software estimation efforts for software development projects within Boeing, including both new development and software reuse
  • Develop and implement software estimation strategies, methodologies, and best practices to ensure accurate and reliable estimates
  • Analyze project documentation such as Statement of Work, Procurement Specifications, and Requirements documents to understand customer needs and project complexities
  • Contribute to internal software architecture discussions and decisions with software architects
  • Provide feedback to customer to influence designs based on software considerations
  • Interfaces with product line architects to understand capabilities and roadmaps
  • Utilize various estimation techniques, models, and tools to generate reliable software effort and cost estimates, ensuring adherence to industry standards and company guidelines
  • Present, endorse, and defend software estimates to internal leadership and customers

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • 1+ years of experience working with hardware emulation technologies such as Qemu
  • 2+ years of educational or work experience testing or programming software written in C or C++
  • 1+ Years of experience with Estimating and Proposal Support

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, software development lifecycles, quality assurance processes, and software architecture principles.
  • Familiar with software for flight critical applications such as those governed by DO-178C
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Summary Pay Range: $109,650 - $171,350
