Job Description
Role Description
The Paralegal-Contracts will assist attorneys with preparation and review of legal documents and manage a variety of legal claims. This is accomplished by performing internal fact investigation, drafting correspondence, and preparing and reviewing contracts. Other duties include completing various other duties and tasks as assigned by the Lead Counsel.
This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.
Responsibilities

Draft and/or perform initial review of complex agreements and other legal and business documents based on approved forms and templates, such as:
- Land use agreements (easements, permits, right-of-way documents)
- Real estate agreements (leases, property sale/purchase agreements, closing documents)
- Procurement agreements (Master Service Agreements, Purchase Agreements, Statements of Work, Work Orders)
- Contract amendments
- Legal correspondence
- Conduct and manage internal fact investigations related to financial services, HR, and property damage matters; create matter files and manage logging/tracking and coordinating with other stakeholders, including Risk Management. Coordinate with outside counsel assigned to litigation matters.

Conduct basic independent research of the law and regulations in various fields including:

- Undertake ad hoc projects under the supervision of an attorney, including managing the company’s Red Flag program and related reporting and contract template management.
- Perform advanced formatting and editing of documents in MS Word, MS Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro, including creating fillable forms, applying multi-level numbering schemes, creating tables of contents, designing customized Styles, and compiling contract exhibits and addenda.
- Implement process improvements for the Legal team to improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Paralegal Degree or Certification, or equivalent work experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least 5 years' experience as transactional paralegal or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office products, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Comprehensive, practical knowledge of the corporate legal function; possession of analytical judgment and decision-making abilities appropriate to the corporate legal environment.
- Thorough knowledge of contract drafting and organization principles.
- Ability to carefully proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Familiarity with Red Flag/identity theft programs.
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, and supervise projects for timely completion and attorney review.

Job Requirements
