Job Description
Role Description
- Research public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of property title.
- Knowledge of researching public records.
- Ability to compile and prepare chains of title, and make abstracts of title with summaries of all matters and instruments of record.
- Interpret deeds, easements, plats, leases, court actions, probates, and other documents impacting property ownership.
- Complete documents that include title acquisition packages and title commitments.
- Identify possible title defects, prepare title-related correspondence based on searches, opinion letters, title evidence, and prior policies.
Qualifications
- Strong computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, flow chart software, and deed plotting software.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal.
- Self-discipline and motivation to perform tasks independently.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines.
- Ability to travel throughout the state to various courthouses.
- 5+ years of title experience.
- Experience completing complex mineral title.
- Real Estate License a plus.
- Acquisition experience preferred.
