Role Description

  • Research public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of property title.
  • Knowledge of researching public records.
  • Ability to compile and prepare chains of title, and make abstracts of title with summaries of all matters and instruments of record.
  • Interpret deeds, easements, plats, leases, court actions, probates, and other documents impacting property ownership.
  • Complete documents that include title acquisition packages and title commitments.
  • Identify possible title defects, prepare title-related correspondence based on searches, opinion letters, title evidence, and prior policies.

Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, flow chart software, and deed plotting software.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal.
  • Self-discipline and motivation to perform tasks independently.
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines.
  • Ability to travel throughout the state to various courthouses.
  • 5+ years of title experience.
  • Experience completing complex mineral title.
  • Real Estate License a plus.
  • Acquisition experience preferred.
