Role Description

Accela is seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead complex cross-functional programs supporting engineering, data, and technology initiatives. This role is responsible for driving alignment, execution, and delivery across teams to ensure engineering programs achieve their intended outcomes.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and is skilled at translating complex technical initiatives into clear execution plans while proactively managing dependencies, risks, and timelines. The TPM partners closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders and brings sufficient technical fluency to support program delivery while relying on engineering leads for architectural and technical decisions.

This role operates with a high degree of ownership in managing program execution and coordinating work across teams.

  • Lead cross-functional programs supporting engineering, data, and technology initiatives from planning through delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to define program objectives, milestones, and delivery plans.
  • Ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are clearly defined and understood before work begins by identifying gaps, surfacing risks, and clarifying dependencies.
  • Facilitate alignment across engineering, product, and business stakeholders on priorities, delivery sequencing, and key decisions.
  • Maintain project plans, timelines, and status reporting to ensure stakeholders have visibility into program progress.
  • Support planning and coordination in agile delivery environments, helping teams maintain focus on priorities and milestones.
  • Identify cross-team dependencies and coordinate with stakeholders to address risks and blockers that may impact delivery timelines.
  • Provide regular updates on program progress, risks, and outcomes to program stakeholders.
  • Contribute to improving project management practices, tools, and workflows that support effective delivery across teams.
  • Promote collaboration and transparency across teams involved in program delivery.

Qualifications

  • 6–8 years of experience in program or project management supporting technology, data, or analytics initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, requirements management, and delivery tracking, with the ability to translate complex initiatives into actionable work plans.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to facilitate collaboration between technical and business teams.
  • Experience using project management tools to track progress, manage risks, and communicate program status.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery environments; PMP, Agile, or Scrum certification is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.

Benefits

  • The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 - $160,000.
  • Generous benefits package including medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Family planning benefits.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match.
  • Health savings account with company contributions.
  • Flexible spending account.
