Traveling Superintendent
Department: Operations
Reports To: EVP, National Accounts
Compensation: $125,000–$170,000 annually (DOE)

The Traveling Superintendent is responsible for leading and executing field operations on complex commercial, industrial, and mission-critical electrical projects across the United States. This role serves as the senior on-site authority, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within scope, and to Enterprise Electrical’s quality standards.
The ideal candidate is a proven field leader with strong technical expertise, exceptional crew management skills, and the ability to operate independently in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. This position requires extensive travel and the ability to mobilize quickly to support national projects.
Job Requirements
- Field Leadership & Execution
- Lead day-to-day on-site operations for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical electrical projects
- Supervise and coordinate field labor including apprentices, journeymen, foremen, and subcontractors
- Enforce production plans, manpower loading, and workflow sequencing
- Serve as the primary on-site liaison between Project Management, General Contractors, inspectors, and other trades
- Safety & Compliance
- Champion Enterprise Electrical’s “Safety First, Safety Always” culture
- Conduct daily safety meetings, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and site audits
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NEC requirements, and local authority codes
- Proactively identify and mitigate jobsite risks
- Quality & Schedule Control
- Interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics
- Coordinate inspections, material deliveries, equipment staging, and subcontractor activities
- Monitor progress against schedule and proactively address field challenges
- Maintain daily reports, field logs, and production tracking using approved software platforms
- Travel & National Support
- Travel extensively to active job sites nationwide, including overnight and extended assignments
- Support startup, ramp-up, and critical project phases as assigned
- Adapt quickly to new sites, teams, and project condition.
- Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of commercial and/or industrial electrical experience
- Minimum 3+ years in a supervisory or superintendent-level role
- Strong working knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and industry best practices
- Proven ability to read and execute from blueprints, one-lines, and construction documents
- Experience managing large crews and coordinating multiple trades
- Proficiency with field technology and reporting tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, or similar)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel nationwide
