Role Description
The job profile for this position is Risk & Underwriting Advisor, which is a Band 4 Senior Contributor Career Track Role.
Responsible for executing the Go‑to‑Market Pharmacy strategy by leading account‑level pricing, rate development, and customer negotiations in partnership with Sales across a complex pharmacy book of business. This role develops strategic, data‑driven recommendations related to market competition, pricing, and product positioning, while influencing underwriting best practices and contributing to product and pricing strategy through strong matrix partnership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages an assigned book of pharmacy business with accountability for profitable growth, persistency, and earnings performance.
- Conducts case‑specific risk assessments and develops account‑level pricing strategies.
- Leads rate development and customer negotiations in collaboration with Sales for complex pharmacy accounts.
- Develops, executes, and monitors account plans to drive growth and profitability.
- Analyzes market trends and competitive dynamics to deliver strategic recommendations on pricing and product positioning.
- Influences underwriting best practices and provides consultative input to matrix partners on product development and pricing strategy.
- Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) supporting Medical Underwriting teams and broader stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience required.
- 4+ years of experience in Pharmacy Underwriting or related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in rating, product, and financial analysis.
- Proven ability to make sound decisions with a strong understanding of internal and external financial implications.
- In‑depth knowledge of market dynamics, competitive conditions, and pricing drivers.
Requirements
- If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
