Position Overview:

Ricoh Logistics Corporation, a leading provider in International Freight Forwarding, is seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth through prospecting, discovery, pricing, closing, and post-closing sales activities in a defined U.S. territory. This role is ideal for a highly motivated “hunter” with a deep understanding of global logistics and a strong track record of success in B2B sales.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and engage potential clients using prospecting tools, networks, and CRM.
  • Conduct in-depth discovery to uncover client pain points and position tailored multimodal logistics solutions.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Develop and deliver compelling proposals, quotes, and presentations.
  • Navigate complex buying processes; engage with key decision-makers and bring in subject matter experts as needed.
  • Collaborate with operations and account management teams to ensure a seamless handover and onboarding process.
  • Prepare SOPs, credit documentation, and other required materials to launch new accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all sales activities and client interactions in CRM.
  • Provide ongoing post-sale support, including issue resolution and performance reviews.
  • Participate in bids, RFPs, and contract negotiations as required.
  • Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned.

 


Required Background & Experience:

  • 7–10 years of proven success in international freight forwarding sales.
  • Deep knowledge of multimodal logistics (Air, Ocean, Import/Export).
  • Strong understanding of U.S. markets and competitive landscape.
  • Experience managing full sales cycles from lead generation to closing.
  • Proficient in using CRM tools, managing territory, and self-organizing in a home office environment.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience selling value-added services such as warehousing, distribution, and customs brokerage.
  • Professional sales training (e.g., SPIN Selling, Solution Selling, or equivalent certifications).
