***POSITION IS REMOTE***
Position Purpose:
Conducts member substance misuse assessments, and through root cause analysis develops specific recovery and treatment plans through information gained by using motivational interviewing techniques, ensuring recovery strategies are beneficial to the member.
- Assesses, plans, implements, monitors, and evaluates options and services to meet SUD and psychosocial health needs of inpatient and outpatient members
- Reviews benefit options, collaborates with members to create behavioral routines, and enables members to be active participants in their own recovery
- Assists members to develop empowerment skills and combating stigma through self-advocacy
- Identifies support linkages to community resources (communities of recovery, educational, vocational, social, cultural, spiritual resources, mutual self-help groups, professional services, etc.,) that support the individual’s goals and interests.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma / GED required. 2+ years of related experience working with the needs of vulnerable populations who have chronic or complex bio-psychosocial needs required.
License/Certification:
- Peer Recovery Support Certification required to include:
- Must provide evidence of earning 60 contact and training hours (CEs) of peer recovery-focused education and training.
- Must include at least 48 hours of peer recovery-focused education/training, including education in documentation, community/family education, case management, crisis management, Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC), screening and intake, identification of indicators of substance use and/or co-occurring disorders for referral, service coordination, service planning, cultural awareness and/or humility, and basic pharmacology.
- Must include at least six hours of ethics education and training within the last six years.
- Must include six hours of HIV/other pathogens education and training within the last six years.
