Role Description
This position helps to develop and implement health promotion and disease prevention programs as part of the Population Health program at Maryland Physicians Care. This position is responsible for providing and managing health education programs that help individuals, families, and their communities maximize and maintain healthy lifestyles. The incumbent is responsible for using data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs designed to encourage healthy lifestyles, policies, and environments to include linking health systems, health care providers, and members to address individual and population health needs. May also serve as a resource to assist individuals, other health care professionals, or the community and may administer fiscal resources for health education programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, health communication and education, and/or health-related field; master’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years’ recent work-related experience in public health setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Some statistical training/experience preferred.
Requirements
- Knowledge of concepts and processes for providing health education and communication services, including needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluation of satisfaction and learning.
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance; unique differences in ability, personality, and interests, learning and motivation.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with proven expertise in Microsoft Excel.
