Role Description
We are seeking an accomplished Vice President to join our team of Sam Brownies and lead strategic communications programs for the biopharmaceutical industry. This is a pivotal leadership role for a seasoned healthcare communications agency professional who excels at building trusted client partnerships, leading integrated teams, and delivering exceptional results across corporate, clinical, and commercial communications initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep life sciences expertise, proven people leadership capabilities, and a track record of driving both client satisfaction and organic account growth. This position is fully remote and requires minimal travel.
- Build trusted partnerships with client stakeholders across the biopharmaceutical industry through excellent strategic communications strategies.
- Lead development and execution of integrated communications programs across corporate and clinical and through product launches and commercialization.
- Translate client objectives into actionable strategies that integrate PR, investor communications, media relations, brand marketing, digital, and creative.
- Manage and mentor team members while overseeing day-to-day operations, delegating assignments, and ensuring quality deliverables.
- Oversee account financials including budgets, revenue forecasting, and profitability while identifying organic growth opportunities.
- Drive new business development through RFPs, pitch presentations, case studies, and prospect meetings.
- Develop and oversee communications materials including press releases, media pitches, investor presentations, and thought leadership content.
- Coordinate media relations with Media team, building journalist relationships and securing high-impact coverage.
- Prepare executives for media interviews, investor presentations, and speaking engagements at industry conferences.
- Represent Sam Brown at industry events and forums to establish the agency as a healthcare communications leader.
Qualifications
- Minimum 12 years of healthcare communications or public relations experience at an agency, with substantial work serving pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device clients.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or related field.
- Proven track record managing PR and communications programs across the life science continuum from clinical development through product launches and commercialization.
- Experience with FDA regulatory considerations, clinical trial communications, investor communications, and product launches in highly regulated environments.
- Demonstrated success leading and mentoring teams with strong people management skills that foster collaboration and integrity.
- Strategic thinker with ability to analyze complex scientific, regulatory, and commercial challenges and develop innovative solutions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex information into compelling narratives for investors, healthcare professionals, patients, and media.
- Strong business acumen including budget management, revenue forecasting, account profitability, and new business development experience.
