Job Description
Role Description
Swiftly now has contracts with over 200 transit agencies, and an increasing number of these agencies are mid-sized and large. Our goal is to grow that number, and Solutions Engineers play a critical role by balancing agency knowledge with a strong desire to help our prospective customers. We are looking for junior to mid-level Solutions Engineers.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the product demonstration portion of Swiftly demos for transit agencies, transit operators, consultancies, and potential partners.
- Partner with the relevant Account Executive/Account Manager to develop and drive a particular agency's strategy, angle, and pitch to best demonstrate Swiftly’s value and overcome blockers.
- Drive revenue growth by developing and maintaining client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, building strong business cases, and providing technical expertise to support the sales process.
- Organize and run 2-3 day onsite workshops, where we train agency staff and help them see Swiftly's value for mid-sized and large agencies.
- Run pilot periods, including limited-time free agency access to Swiftly, with the goal of deriving quantitative savings and results to inform a strong business case for mid-sized and large agencies.
- Quickly understand complex engineering concepts and effectively communicate them to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build and maintain productive, high-trust relationships with agency staff and internal teams, providing technical expertise and support throughout the sales cycle.
- Develop new tools and processes to assist with proving the value of Swiftly.
- Serve as a technical resource and domain expert for internal teams.
- Provide accurate, relevant first-line technical responses during all phases of the sales cycle.
- Participate in sharing learnings and best practices with the SE team and beyond. Identify pain points and potential improvements for the function.
- Represent Swiftly at conferences and events.
Qualifications
- You love transit and have 3+ years of experience working at or with a transit agency.
- You bring an understanding of the following topics: transit passenger information, planning, operations, and data standards.
- You are very analytical and love data.
- You are very strategic and love solving problems.
- You’re excited to partner with transit agencies and help them solve their transit-related issues.
- You are a strong and proactive communicator and are energized by spending the day speaking with and listening to our prospective customers.
- You are capable of finding creative methods of helping our prospective customers find the value in Swiftly.
- You are very organized and can manage communications with multiple departments at multiple transit agencies simultaneously.
- You are a tireless investigator. When an issue arises, you own it until resolution.
- You are comfortable in ambiguous situations and can work autonomously to creatively solve problems.
- You are able to travel on average once a month to meet agencies and attend conferences around North America.
