Description
Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret laboratory, radiology, and diagnostic test results
- Document findings clearly in the EMR and communicate results via the patient portal
- Conduct follow-up calls with patients as needed to review results and next steps
- Respond to clinical inquiries, including lab result clarifications and medication questions
- Approve and manage appropriate medication refills
- Design and maintain EMR order sets and templates to streamline provider workflows
- Create standardized follow-up protocols for abnormal test results
- Support team-based care coordination and guide clinical best practices
- Keep up with EMR enhancements, digital tools, and emerging technologies (including AI)
- Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, innovation, and operational efficiency
- Full-time (4.5-day workweek), Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Flexibility to work remotely or in-office as long as tasks are completed on time
- Office is closed on weekends and major holidays
- Expected to manage urgent result follow-ups only on weekends (phone-based, minimal volume)
- Minimal on-call responsibilities
Qualifications
- MD with Board Certification in Internal Medicine
- Active Georgia medical license or eligibility to obtain
- Minimum 3 years of outpatient internal medicine experience preferred
- Advanced interpretation skills across labs, imaging, and diagnostics
- Proficiency with EMRs and openness to evolving technologies
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong communication skills
- Ability to lead clinical improvement efforts and contribute to operational decisions
- Clinically strong and detail-focused physician with diagnostic expertise
- Interested in improving systems of care and operational efficiency
