Job Description
Role Description
We are expanding our Public Investor team by hiring a Head of Software Sector to drive the development, strategy and commercialization of fundamental research across our high-demand subscription-based data products. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with 7+ years of experience who is eager to drive growth of one of our core sectors into the data-driven future of investment research.
You may be an ideal fit if you bring:
- Experience developing and/or using investor-facing equity research assets
- Exposure to data product building, go-to-market execution, team leadership, and P&L ownership
- Focused equity experience in Software (highly preferred)
If you’re passionate about leveraging data to drive actionable insights and collaborating cross-functionally to set and achieve ambitious goals, we encourage you to apply.
This is a remote-friendly opportunity that can sit in NYC (where our headquarter is located), one of our office hubs (Austin, Miami, Mountain View), or anywhere else in the US. However, depending upon where the remote work is performed, income could be subject to New York State tax withholding. Please note that we pay NYC-based salaries for US roles regardless of where employees choose to work.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
-
Develop and Own the Sector Vision & Strategy:
- Define the long-term product and commercial strategy for the sector and set measurable growth and profitability goals.
- Continuously refine this strategy through experiments, customer insights, and competitive awareness to position this YipitData sector as the “must-have” source for investor intelligence.
-
Drive Financial Performance & P&L Ownership:
- Set and achieve ambitious ARR and profit margin targets by balancing growth and efficiency.
- Identify, prioritize, and resource the highest ROI opportunities (datasets, product improvements, or market expansions) to deliver sustainable financial results.
-
Deliver Best-in-Class Product and Client Experience:
- Own the voice of the customer — deeply understand investor needs and translate them into product enhancements, data coverage, and differentiated insights.
- Ensure tight product–market fit and lead continuous innovation using data, AI, and customer feedback loops.
-
Build, Lead, and Inspire a High-Performing Cross-Functional Team:
- Recruit, motivate, and develop top research and data talent while fostering accountability, collaboration, and a culture of excellence.
- Align closely with functional partners (Research, Data, Revenue, Engineering, and more) to execute on strategy effectively.
-
Communicate, Collaborate, and Execute Relentlessly:
- Serve as the central operator and communicator for the sector — set clear OKRs, own the sector commercial strategy and monitor progress, and ensure execution discipline.
- Partner cross-functionally (Finance, Sales, Partnerships, Product) to align incentives, share best practices, and drive coordinated execution across the organization.
